Developmental psychobiology
I am mostly interested in the development of mammalian behavior including cognition based on evolutionary theory. The main topics of current research include: (i) Developing novel animal models for the better understanding of the pathobiology of complex human neuro-behavioral disorders; (ii) Short- and long-term consequences of blue light exposure during early development on young mammals’ behavior, physiology and anatomy; (iii) The emergence of individual differences in behavioral and physi
ological phenotype, and its long-term stability; (iv) The development of social relations, principally auditory and olfactory communications between mother and offspring; (v) The development and the influence of the environment on the perception and decision making of animals. I believe in the importance of a comparative approach, and the long-term aim is to bring together these ongoing lines of research by investigating the possible link between the emergence of different behavioral, physiological and morphological phenotypes, cognition and the long-term effects on these biotic and abiotic environment.
